Automotive Grade Linux All Member Meeting Summer 2024

The automotive industry is undergoing a profound transformation as Software-Defined Vehicles (SDVs) become the new paradigm. Central to this evolution is the decoupling of software from hardware, enabling a "Software First" development approach. Automotive Grade Linux (AGL) has been at the forefront of this shift, championing open-source software to drive innovation and foster collaboration across the industry. In this keynote speech, we will delve into the technological advancements propelling this change and the indispensable role AGL plays in accelerating it. We will spotlight key enabling technologies incubated or refined within the AGL ecosystem, such as VirtIO and Unified HMI, demonstrating how these innovations streamline automotive development with a "Software First" methodology. Additionally, we will address the challenges the industry faces and explore how the AGL community can collaboratively overcome them.
