In-vehicle voice interfaces are becoming increasingly common – and with good reason. They offer a convenient, hands-free way to control the car, navigate and access entertainment. However, there remain many obstacles to creating truly natural and intuitive voice experiences. This talk will examine the current state of in-vehicle voice technology and the challenges of integrating voice interfaces. We will explore the latest developments in Whisper, GPT and other large language models (LLMs), identify key best practices for designing and developing voice-enabled applications, and delve into promising future use cases for in-vehicle voice, such as leveraging artificial intelligence to create personalized and contextual experiences. You will leave this talk with a solid appreciation for the potential in-vehicle voice presents, deeper insight around LLMs, and a better understanding of how to create voice-enabled applications that are both useful and enjoyable.
